一昨日の夕方から降り始めた雨は今日も午前一杯は降り続くらしい。この天気では庭仕事にもならないので，カッパを着て散歩に行くことにした。自宅から30分位かかる名古屋市農業センターまで往復すれば結構いいカロリー消費になる。

大体の方角を目処に適当に道を探しながら歩いてみる。暫く来ない内に，農業センターの周りは結構綺麗な住宅地になっていた。そんなこんなで，大したこともなく到着。

中に入ると案内図が在る。

ホームページによると「農業センターは、名古屋市の農業振興をはかるため、昭和40年4月1日に開設され、農業技術の普及・指導を行ってきました。今では名古屋の都市化にともない、農業に親しむ機会の少なくなった市民に、農業に親しみながら、ゆったりと憩うことのできる施設として利用されています。

　ウシ・ヒツジの放牧場、各種鶏の展示とふ化の見られる展示鶏舎などの畜産施設、ベゴニアの展示を中心にした温室、花や野菜の栽培温室、野菜の畑などの園芸施設、芝生広場と約700本のしだれ梅園などを自由にご覧いただけるほか、農業センターで搾った生乳を使ってつくられた牛乳・アイスクリームも楽しめます。」とのこと。

我が家も動物好きの子供が小さい頃は家族で良く来て，動物に餌をあげたりした。農業振興から始まったが，市民の憩いの場としても愛されているというわけだ。

今日ここに来たのには，もう一つ理由がある。。この中のベゴニア館が閉鎖になるという噂を昨年ネットで見た。経費節減の煽りを食らっているらしい。以前何度も行ってそのコレクションの素晴らしさに感動した場所なので，結局どうなったのか確認したかったのだ。
行ってみるとベゴニア館はあった。開花していますという看板も立っている。やれやれ何とか難を免れたのかな。と思いながら入る。
中には球根ベゴニアのコレクションを始め沢山の花が咲いている。

 しかし，すぐ目に飛び込んできたのはこの看板だ。そうか閉館にはならなかったが，暖房費削減とは，ベゴニアには相当のダメージだろう。来年は全て無加温。貴重なコレクションはどうするのだろう。

そして，これ。-3℃とは，涙が出てくるよ。元気でないのは枯れちゃったんだろうか?

そういえば，入った時以前より何となく数が少ないような気がした。驚くような珍しい種類もない。やっぱりどこかに移したか，枯れてしまったのか・・・

今も球根ベゴニアは色々残っているが，これも来年は判らないな。

経費節減も必要だろうが，市民の憩いの場を奪ってしまって，ギスギスした耐乏生活を強いるのが，市長の仕事なんだろうか。太陽電池でも何でも付けて対策できないものかと思った。

帰りは少々寄り道して，黄菖蒲か?

近道しようと迷いこんだ竹やぶには筍が沢山。

巻柏蘇生 Selaginella revives

巻柏は，ソメイヨシノの咲く頃，雨の前の日に出すのが良いとどこかで見た。

冬の間3ヶ月位，水も断って休眠させるというのが巻柏育ての常道で，春に保管場所から出してきて目覚めさせる。そして，目覚めは短時間に済ますのがその後の成長にも良いらしく，雨に当てて一気に目覚めさせようという話だ。

I saw somewhere that selaginella should be brought out when cherry blossoms bloom and right before a rainy day.

About three months in winter, it is common to keep selaginella completely without water, and to bring out in spring from stored place.  Also, since it is better for their health to finish revival in short period, it is good to expose to rain and wake them fast.  

今年は暖かくなってもまた寒くなる妙な天気で，桜は咲いていたが，この日までズルズルと延び延びになってしまった。本当は二日前が良かったのだが，家族旅行でそれも出来ず，雨上がりのいい天気に出すことになってしまった。

こうなったら，毎日せっせと水遣りするしかない。

This year, the weather is unusual like a few very warm days followed bye a week of winter coldness, so even though cherry started to bloom, I delayed and delayed until this day.  Actually, two days earlier were rainy, but our family went to a trip and it was not possible.  After all, it came to bring out on a fine day right after rain.  Sigh.

大半はこのように，濡れ縁にビニールを張り，その下に置いておく。写真はビニールを外した後。数株はもう出して並べた。

I store most of my selaginella under the deck wrapped with vinyl sheet.  The picture is after the vinyl sheet was removed, and several pots were already brought out.

30分くらい這いつくばった作業の結果，並んだ並んだ枯れ木のような鉢が。
これが元気になるのだから不思議な植物だ。
After thirty minute of grovelling work, an array of pots with dead trees were formed.  They are so mysterious that they would get vivid soon.

どういう具合か，幾つかはもう少し葉が開いている。何故か，石付けにしてある方が開いているようだ。根が元気なのかな?
Some had already opened their leaves somehow.  For some reason, ones planted on rocks looks to have opened the leaves.  It might be that their roots are healthier.

その日から毎日水遣りを続けたが，葉が開くのはじつにゆっくり。初めの数日は生きているのかと心配になる。
After the day, I continued to water them, but they were opening their leaves very reluctantly.  In the first few days, I suspected they were alive.
その後，雨も少し降り，4月16日には大分葉が開いてきた。しかし，未だ去年の紅葉の色のまま。モミジの葉も開いてきた。
Then, we had some rain, and on April 16 the leaves fairly opened.  Still, the leaf color is like the ones in the last fall.  Leaves of the maple has also opened.

4月29日は雨。更に少しづつ葉が開いて緑色になり，段々まともになってきた。
On April 29, it is raining.  Leaves opened a little more, greener, and look righter.

蘭が色々咲きました。blogサボっていたので，既に殆ど切り花状態・・・　^^;

Various orchid flowered.  Actually, most of them were cut and in the vases while I was lazy and not writing blog recently.

I damaged this one by misplacing fertilizer a few years ago.  But, it recored as it was before.

昨年は乾燥気味に育てすぎたのか，株の大半が死亡?　今年は植え方考えないといけない。
Probably I kept it too dry last year, and most of it are dead.  I have to think about that.

これだけは，順調に育っている。今年も一鉢お嫁に出した。一本の花茎から二花咲くのは珍しいと思うのだが?
Only this species has been growing very well.  I gave one pot to one of our neighbors.  By the way, I think this one that two flowers in one stem is rare...

これは未だ咲き始めたばかり

This just started to bloom.

マキシラリアも丈夫で，ちょっと困るくらいよく増える。

Maxillaria is so hardy, grows so much that I feel a little troubled.

センペル仔吹き? Sempervivum giving pups?

暖かくなったと思ったら，センペルからなにか出てきた。

While enjoying spring sunny days, I found something coming out of sempervivums.

子供かな?　花かも知れない，なんて思ったりして。

Are these pups?  I wonder this could be flowers.

これは間違いなく子株。上のとは少し出方が違う。
This is a pup definitely.  This is different from the ones above.

春は突然に Spring has come suddenly.

今週はいい陽気が続いた。

先週まで厚いコート着ていたのが嘘のようだ。

待ちかねたように色々な花が爆発的に咲き始めた。

季節の移ろいが押しつぶされたようで，本来段階的に咲く花達が一気に開く。

It continued warm days, this week.  I can not believe that I was wearing a heavy coat last week.  Various flowers burst into bloom as they have been patiently waiting.  The change of seasons looks compressed, and flowers that should bloom one by one bloom at the same time.

Cherry blossoms started, but have no picture this year.

多肉植え替え Succulent repotting

寄せ植えを去年作った時考えが足りなかったようだ。
よく知らべてみたら，性質の違うものが混ざっている。
夏まではいいと思うが，夏を越すのは厳しい。
When I made several succulent arrangement, I have not considered enough.  Investigation later make me aware that ones with different characteristics are planted in the same places.
It will be fine until summer, but it will hard to survive through hot summer here.

昨日は暖かかったので植え替えることにした。
It was very warm yesterday, and I decided to repot them.

先ず，エケベリア，コチレドンとクラッスラが混在していた。コチレドンとエケベリアは性質が似ているからこれらだけ集めてみた。
First of all, some pots have mix of echeveria, cotyledon, and crassulla.  So, only cotyledon and echeveria are gathered in one pot since they have similar characteristics.

買ってきた鉢が大きすぎてスカスカだ・・・

But, the pot I bought were too large, and the arrangement looks empty.

仕方ないので今日小さいエケを２つ追加してまあなんとか格好になった。

Without nothing to do, I bought two echeveria, and added.  This is better.

クラッスラだけ集まってこうなった。クラッスラは春・夏に爆発的に育ち，特に花茎が延びて乱れるので３月になったら一旦外に植える積もりだ。
Gathering crassula only became this pot.  They will explode in spring and summer, and especially flower stem makes them wild.  In spring I will plant them outdoor.

 次にセネキオも夏型と冬型混在だったので，組み替えた。
これが，夏型セット。
Next, summer growing and winter growing senecio were mixed.  So, I rearranged.  This is summer set.

冬型のブルボーサは取り敢えずスタンドアロン。
Winter growing senecio_articulatus is stand alone for the time being.

愛染錦がハートカズラと植えられていたので，これも分離して，愛染錦は小人の祭りとセット。
Aeonium domesticum f. variegata was planted with chain of hearts.  They were separated, and domesticum is with aeonium_sedifolium.

ハートカズラは瑠璃晃と寄せ植え。

Chain of hears is now with euphorbia_susannae.

 

センペル紅葉 Semps turned red

14日に降った雪のせいかもしれないが，センペルビブムの紅葉が進んでいる。

Maybe because of snowfall on 14th, my sempervivum turned red.

この鉢の物は，大分寒くなってから買ったので，買った時からかなり紅葉していた。しかし，これ程ではなかった。

These on this pot was bought after it was very cold, so they were somewhat red at that time.  But, not this much.

赤を通り越して紫だね
This is purple having past red.

これは，葉の端が赤くなってきていて，いい感じ。
These have tips turning red, and look nice.

これも端だけ。
This has similar color gradation.  

セダムとのコントラストがなかなかよろしい。
Nice contrast with yellow sedum.

これは小豆色です。
This is violet.

 百恵ちゃんも紫色かな。
Momoe is violet, too.
